SPIT GAME FILMS

The Spit Game Collective started working on film projects in Summer 2023 with our debut feature film MONIQUE which looks at the difficulties young men have in relationships, exploring misogyny, sexual assault and abuse. Our second feature film DEAD FUN was completed in March 2024. This explores serious youth violence, violence against women, numbness to black-on-black murder and young male mental health.

In addition to the features, The Spit Game have developed a range of shorts, starting with HELP! I THINK MY TEACHER IS RACIST (exploring racism in education), THE NUDES (consent in digital spaces - specifically the sending of non-consensual nudes), JUST A JOKE (the ethics of jokes and power dynamics in the workplace) and THE THINGS I’LL DO TO BE PRESIDENT (spreading of conspiracy theories online, specifically in politics).

Spit Game films typically explore subjects that affect young people - specifically young Black people - growing up in London today. We pride ourselves on our young team and the DIY nature of our film projects. We represent the core talent that feature regularly in our films but typically cast beyond this, including the Spit Game community of actors, Spotlight casting calls and open calls.
